Carrier Billing aka mVAS veritical, has some different conversion flows. Below is an introduction to them.

1. 1ClickFlow
[User clicks confirmation button] -> [convert]

1) In the Payment page, a user clicks Submit
2) A user gets a text message about the service and payment details
3) A user get access to the service

1 click flow is used in Tier 3 countries.

2. 2ClickFlow
[User agrees TOS] -> [User clicks confirmation button] -> [convert]

1) On the Payment page, a user agrees to the service tems of use by ticking the checkbox or clicking the link in the additional text message
2) After agreeing to the terms and conditions, a user clicks Submit
3) A user gets a text message about the service and payment details
4) A user get access to the service

2 click flow is prevalent in African countries, except for Kenya.

3. Pin Submit
[User inputs number] -> [User revieves pin code] -> [User submits pin code] -> [convert]

1) In the Payment page, a user enters their mobile number (MSISDN) and clicks Submit
2) A user gets the text message with the verification PIN code
3) A user enters the received PIN in the Payment page of the service
4) A user gets a text message about the service and payment details
5) A user get access to the service

Wi-Fi PIN submit is heavily used in MENA countries.

4.HE+Pin

1) In the Payment page, a user clicks Submit

This flow type is trendy in MENA countries. MENA, an acronym for the Middle East and North Africa, includes places like the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Qatar, Egypt, Algeria, etc.

5. Click2Sms
Premium SMS
[User clicks confirmation button] -> [User sends prefilled SMS] -> [convert]

1) In the Payment page, a user clicks Submit
2) Click2SMS is used in the user’s device to automatically generate the outgoing text message to the mobile’s carrier’s shortcode with the prefilled password; the user sends the message
3) A user gets a text message about the service and payment details
4) A user get access to the service

Premium SMS flow is used in Asian countries and Eastern Europe.

6. MO
[User fills receiver and SMS] -> [User sends it]-> [convert]

1) A user fills the SMS and the receiver manually
2) A user sends out the SMS
3) A user gets a text message about the service and payment details
4) A user get access to the service

MO, which states for Mobile Originated, is a flow when an SMS is sent to a website, app, or platform from a mobile phone. MT, which stands for Mobile Terminated, is a flow when a message is sent from an SMS gateway to a mobile phone. For example, SMS marketing efforts are MT.

In Western Europe, where the mVAS vertical is not so popular, a user needs to send a MO message manually, without a prefilled text and number.

7. USSD
USSD: Unstructured Supplementary Service Data
[User clicks confirmation button] -> [User sends prefilled SMS] -> [convert]

1) In the Payment page, a user clicks on a specific digit in a digital panel with numbers
2) A user gets a text message about the service and payment details
3) A user get access to the service

USSD is a universal flow type in Kenya, and other flow types are absent.

8. Click2Call
Сlick2call offers (they are also called click-to-dial or IVR) assume the fixed cost of the call itself or making a payment according to the call’s duration: the longer the client communicates with the specialist, the higher the price.

MSISDN: Mobile Subscriber International ISDN/PSTN number.
